A firm believer in cutting your path in life, Hamish started his career as a farmhand after finishing school, working his way up to own and manage Millar Farms for over 23 years.   

Following this success, Hamish transitioned to become the Managing Director of Cowal Ag and now serves as our CEO. 

Recognising the importance of targeted research, development, and embracing new technologies, Hamish leverages his expertise in R&D leadership to advocate for investments that benefit the industry as a whole. 

In addition to his hands-on experience, Hamish has extensive expertise in strategic planning, business management, marketing, and more.

Over the last three decades, George has dedicated himself to mastering and developing an in-depth understanding of crop growth and sustainable agricultural practices.

His hands-on experience has equipped him with the skills to cultivate the best produce, ensuring high-quality yields and efficient farm management.

George oversees Cowal Ag’s Emerald-based aggregation by mentoring and managing a team of fifteen staff, ensuring smooth operations through the use of relevant tools and inputs to achieve our goals.

Recently transitioning to the agricultural industry, Brett brings extensive experience in Workplace Health and Safety from roles in the Military and Aviation industry to the Cowal Ag team. 

A valuable asset to the team, Brett is the key to developing our best-in-class health and safety system, aiming to ensure that our people, aggregations, and workplaces are both productive and safe.

Day-to-day, Brett focusses on finding practical ways to ensure the continuous development of our workplace health and safety systems, managing risks, and ensuring each team member goes home safe from work.

Max has been immersed in the agricultural industry for over a decade, kickstarting his journey as a Jackaroo in the Northern Territory. 

With a diverse professional background spanning agricultural consulting, farm management, and corporate leadership roles, Max brings a wealth of experience to the table.

At Cowal Ag, Max plays a crucial role in identifying, analysing, and purchasing farms that align with our strategic goals, working closely with farm managers to optimise business operations and performance. 

His responsibilities also extend to contributing to corporate-level strategy development for growth, sustainability, and achieving net-zero emissions.

Cait's journey began in Big 4 and mid-tier accounting firms, before taking a career break from public practice accounting. During this time she found herself drawn to agriculture while working on Western Queensland properties.

For the past decade, she's been fully immersed in the industry, taking on corporate leadership roles.

At Cowal Ag, Cait's role involves overseeing day-to-day general finance functions, including managing financial records, cashflow, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. 

Her attention to detail, continuous improvement mindset, and comprehensive understanding of financial processes are instrumental in maintaining the financial health and integrity of the business and driving performance.
